Home Automation systems turn your home into a “Smart Home” by communicating with you and saving you time, energy, and money. This technology, called Smart Home Technology or Smart Home Systems, is now more affordable than ever.
HOME SECURITY & FIRE PROTECTION
On your way to work and forgot to arm your security system? You can arm it immediately from your mobile phone, tablet, or laptop. Set it up to receive a text-message notification any time your carbon-monoxide or smoke detectors indicate an emergency or if someone else has armed or disarmed it.
Use the motion-detection settings to have your camera record anyone who enters the house and then send alerts to your phone, or set your system to turn lights on when you walk into a room.
DOORS AND GARAGE DOORS
Lock or unlock exterior doors, so you can let someone in, even when you are not, and eliminate the need to rush home to verify that you locked the door on your way out. Open or close your garage door, or check status of door while away.
Receive a text message any time a signal is triggered in your house, such as from a liquor cabinet or pool gate opening.
Adjust your temperature from your phone, or set automatic adjustments at certain times during the day. Wake up to a warm house in the winter, and lower the temperature after you leave for work. A real energy and money saver. You can also adjust it with a touch of a button on your phone.
PEACE OF MIND
You know your home is protecting itself and your loved ones 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — and with a Smart Home Automation System from Atronic Alarms you have the ability to communicate with it at any time.
This year’s theme for National Fire Prevention Week is “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!” In the event of a home fire, the difference between life and death is mere seconds. So it is vital to create an escape plan with two routes out of every room.
According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), seven people die in U.S. home fires every day. And only one-third of Americans have developed and practiced a home fire escape plan.
At Atronic Alarms, Inc., we are committed to reducing fire-related fatalities, and this is the perfect week for you and your family to take action.
Creating a Fire Escape Plan
To help you create and practice an escape plan, here are some tips to get started:
Mark two exits from each room and a path to the outside from each exit.
Practice your home fire drill twice a year. Conduct one at night and one during the day with everyone in your home, and practice using different ways out.
Teach children how to escape on their own in case you can’t help them.
Close doors behind you as you leave – this may slow the spread of smoke, heat, and fire.
Once you get outside, stay outside. Never go back inside a burning building.
The NFPA provides a whole range of informative and fun ways to teach children about fire safety on their Sparky School House website. Here are just a couple of the resources available:
Sparky’s Fire House – This free app is loaded with games and activities to teach early learners ages 3 – 7 how to stay safe in a fire. Find it in the Apple App Store and on Google Play for Android.
Sparky the Fire Dog’s® Brain Busters – This free trivia app challenges students ages 8 – 11 over subjects like math, science, pop culture and fire safety. Find it in the Apple App Store and on Google Play for Android.
Our business is your safety. We seamlessly integrate our monitored fire systems with our security systems. In the event of a fire, the system immediately dispatches the fire department, even when your system isn’t armed*.

*Fire devices must be in good working order and signals received by our monitoring station.
The recent hurricanes pounding the coasts this month are reminders that Mother Nature reigns over humans every time. As we wrap up September, which is National Preparedness Month, remember that it’s never too late to complete a disaster preparedness plan.
We complied information from Ready.gov for emergencies faced by those in the Midwest. For a full list of preparedness plans for all type of emergencies, please visit the Ready.gov website.
It used to be that when school children were home alone after school due to both parents working, they were considered “latch key” kids. However, thanks to current “smart home” technology, children may still be home alone, but they no longer have to carry actual keys, and parents have the ability to “check in” on them whenever possible.
Preventing false alarms. Before heading out for that last summer trip, act to ensure that your security system won’t accidentally be triggered while you’re out of town. Or if it is set off, make sure your security company knows exactly who to contact.
Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, marks the first time those in the contiguous U.S. will be able to view a total solar eclipse in 38 years. The line of “totality,” which is where the moon completely blocks the sun from view, crosses just North of the metro.
With a pet safety system, as soon as the devices detect smoke it alerts Atronic’s monitoring station and the fire department is dispatched immediately. These minutes saved may be the most important minutes of your pet’s life.
As temperatures rise, so do door-to-door home security scams. Some are perpetuated nearly every summer, and we’ve warned of them in the past. However, every year, criminals create new ways to take your money. Knowing what to look for is the best way to avoid getting caught up in their schemes. Continue reading →
