    I truly enjoy taking care of the customer and solving any problems they may have. I have worked in customer service all my life (including one tour in the Navy), and working for Atronic Alarms is what I like best. It is nice being with a smaller organization because you can build a rapport with your customers. They feel at ease being able to speak with a person, instead of reaching a recording and then having to press prompts. It can be very frustrating.

    The best part of my job is knowing a family, days before Christmas, had an electrical issue in their basement in the wee hours of the morning. They were awakened to the sound of the alarm system. Mom, Dad, two kids and the dog hurried outside.
    By Grace, the fire burned through some plastic water lines and was pretty much extinguished when the fire trucks arrived;
    leaving considerable damage to their home and belongings. BUT, the entire family was able to spend Christmas with Grandma at her house. That is why I do what I do. And what is more important than that?

  • Bob Scales, System Design Consultant

    Bob Scales, System Design Consultant

    Bob ScalesSomeone asked what I liked best about my job. Having merged my company, Safeguard Alarms KC, with Atronic in 2014, one can only imagine how much my job has changed. Through all the changes, two thoughts come to mind as being the most important.

    First are people. I have the great pleasure to continue to work with friends and customers, many of whom I have known for more than 20 years. More often than not our phone conversations are spent catching up on the latest family news and then a small amount of time about whatever the security Issue might be. Our business has always been more about the strong relationships we build with our customers than the equipment we install in their homes and businesses.

    Second is that I continue to be a strong advocate for our Industry as Past President of KCBFAA, President of ESA of MO, Vice President MBFAA Apprenticeship Training Trust and ESA Board Member. With the help of volunteers in the Kansas City metro area and throughout states of Kansas, Missouri and Illinois we work to protect the hundreds of small businesses that serve the security needs of tens of thousands of customers all over the region. There always seems to be a new challenge on the horizon that needs to be dealt with in order to protect our Industry and the customers we serve.

    I love building programs to do new and helpful features for our customers and telling them about all the things they can do with the systems. Setting up custom lighting, controlling access doors or gates through the security system. Showing off how various apps can allow you to do different features like see who is coming and going. How you can customize HVAC settings for a place based on if building is occupied and time of day. I enjoy any sort of custom programming or design, is a fun challenge that you get a nice sense of accomplishment from.
