What Do I Do if I Accidently Set Off the Alarm?

Don’t panic! Turn off the alarm. Call the central station number at

    913-432-4545
    or
    816-241-2525

and be prepared to give your password. Do not call our sales and service number to cancel an alarm. You can also wait for the central station operator to call you. Again be prepared to give the password.

After you have talked to the central station, you will want to go back to the keypad and reset your alarm. Refer to your owner’s manual for how to reset your alarm.

    Monitoring Services

Atronic Alarms does not require you to sign a long-term monitoring contract. Contracts are on a month-to-month basis and may be cancelled at any time.

Atronic Alarms utilizes a local, UL Listed, 24-hour central monitoring station, and provides monitoring service for burglary, fire, panic buttons, environmental sensors, opening and closing conditions and much more.

Most security systems are hooked up to a monitoring service. This service dispatches the correct authorities to your property in the event of an alarm. They also contact the responsible parties, notifying them of an alarm condition. (Click Diagram Below to Enlarge)

    Central Station Diagram

Most new systems installed by Atronic Alarms provides our Auto Test feature.

    What is Auto Test?
Auto test is where your alarm panel on a regular basis sends a signal to the central station confirming that it is able to communicate. If the test signal is not received, our staff will contact you to verify that your system is communicating. The auto test benefit is assuring that you will not find out months later that your system was not communicating.

    How Does Monitoring Work?
When your security system is armed and then violated, the siren(s) would sound and the control panel would send out a signal over your telephone line. *The local central station receives the signal, and the operator has information on his computer that tells where the alarm occurred, and what action to take. Typically the operator of the central station would then call the property; if there were an answer, the operator would confirm that everything is okay and ask for a password. If no one answers or the incorrect password is given the operator, would dispatch the appropriate authorities. Then the operator would call the “responsible parties” on your call list to notify them of the alarm. *If phone lines are down or cut, the signal can not get through to the central station without a phone back up.

    Why Have Monitoring?
There are many benefits to monitoring service. One is knowing that if your property has an alarm condition that you and the correct authorities will be notified. Insurance Carriers often offer discounts on property insurance that can be as high as 30%. See our chart on our web site under insurance discounts.

    Emergency Call List
This is a list of names and phone numbers that you will provide Atronic Alarms, Inc. In the event of an alarm condition the central station can notify the correct parties. For your safety, we only take central station changes in writing. If you do wish us to take verbal changes, we must have a written directions to except verbal changes.

    What are False Alarms?
A loose definition by your local police department for a false alarm would be when an officer is dispatched to the property and there is no emergency. Often false alarms are caused by the end users themselves by not setting the system correctly or even not having their password or disarm code ready when entry/exiting the property.

Better designed and installed systems reduces false alarm potential backed with strong education of false alarm prevention to the alarm user. Refer to our web site to see a list of false alarm preventative measures.
