    Atronic Alarms
had one van, one small office space and two employees.

Perry would design a system, then return to personally assist with installation.

There were no alpha numeric keypads, you either had a ready-to-arm light or no light at all.

The first computer arrived in the Atronic office in 1988.

Atronic was one of the first companies to try out the Nextel radios, which were like carrying small bricks.

There was no such thing as home automation.

    Atronic Alarms, Then and Now

published in Totally Wired winter 2009-2010 edition

Back in 1982, Perry Atha moved back to Kansas City and needed an alarm system for his personal home. After receiving proposals from several alarm companies, it became obvious to him that there was a need for a professional, reputable security provider in the area.

With a degree in business, a strong interest in technology and a newly formed friendship with an alarm installer, Perry decided to develop a security company himself. His desire was to promote and provide a company with strong relationships and involvement in the community based on trust.

And NOW nearly 28 years later, Atronic Alarms is one of the largest, locally owned and operated, custom designed security and home automation companies in the area.

With over 31 employees, 16 vans, a residential and a commercial installation department, Atronic’s continued growth is based upon the solid foundation of trust. Add in quality equipment, exceptional customer and technical service departments, and you uncover their recipe for success.

Over the past 28 years, Perry has assembled hard-working, experienced professionals including, Todd Harrison, operation manager; Nell Mathews, general manager; Craig Albright, service manager; and Barb Suggs, accounting manager.

These leaders together with the staff have made it possible for Atronic to be recognized for several industry awards, including Dealer of the Year, Installation of the Year, CE Pro Top 100 and, in 2009, winner of the Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) award.

However, Perry says one of the most rewarding compliments Atronic can receive is being selected to provide security for second and third generation Kansas City residents.
